Scotland’s Tourism Industry Conference took place 24th and 25th November 2021 and it was held in Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre (EICC).
This was the first opportunity in over 18 months for Scotland’s tourism community to come together to reconnect, learn, share knowledge, inspire each other, and celebrate achievements in all that they’ve done as an industry to navigate their way through the toughest period imaginable.
The event was delivered and hosted by the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA), the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA), HIT Scotland (Hospitality Industry Trust) and Scotland Food & Drink. The two-day event was shaped around Scotland’s Future Tourism Strategy, ‘Scotland Outlook 2030‘. The key priorities of the strategy are reflective of the changing world we live in and represent the beginning of a bold new approach to deliver the very best for communities, people, visitors, businesses, and the environment.
There were many interesting speakers at the conference such as Simon Calder – Independent Travel Journalist, Iain Stewart MP – Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland, Ann Morrow Johnson – Executive Producer and Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering and Andrea Nicholas – Co-founder of the Green Tourism Certification Programme.
More than ever since covid-19, many hotels, bars, visitor attractions and restaurants understand the importance and the need for plants and flowers in and around their venues to help promote cleaner air and improve their customers wellbeing. Both real and artificial plants can transform a guest’s experience and hotel guests are willing to pay more for rooms with biophilic elements. The conference discussed how the pandemic has had a massive impact on Scotland’s tourism industry and how it has fundamentally changed the way businesses operate and created a ‘new normal’.
We absolutely love working with the hospitality industry to provide creative bespoke eye-catching planting and floral designs across the country and we were thrilled to be a part of Scotland’s Tourism Industry Conference this year. We dressed the stage with our beautiful lush green plants. We’ve supported Scotland’s Tourism Industry Conference in 2019 and 2020 so it was fantastic to be able to support the event again.
It truly was a brilliant event, and we received some amazing feedback about our plants from Marc Crothall, CEO – Scottish Tourism Alliance.
We hope that everyone who attended Scotland’s Tourism Industry Conference had a brilliant time at the event, are inspired to work towards the Net Zero target and have many ideas on how to best recover and rebuild as we look ahead to 2022. We’re looking forward to next years event already!
