Among the notable enhancements in the newly revamped spa is Scotland’s first-ever snow shower room. A true novelty, guests can indulge in a unique sensation as they stand or sit beneath a gentle snowfall, immersing themselves in a wintery paradise. This delightful addition adds an unexpected touch to the spa experience and offers a moment of escapism from the bustling city life.

Continuing their commitment to incorporating biophilic design principles, we were tasked with creating and installing Nordik Moss walls throughout the corridors leading to the spa. These extraordinary installations serve to deepen the spa’s connection with nature, enveloping guests in vibrant greenery as they move between treatment areas. The presence of Nordik Moss creates a refreshing environment that complements the spa’s overall aesthetic and reinforces the benefits of being immersed in nature.

Finlay Anderson, Spa Director at Kimpton Blythswood Square and Area Spa Director for IHG Hotels & Resorts told The Scotsman: “We’ve used years of expertise rooted in physiological science to develop a 360-degree wellness experience for our guests – and one that’s easy to follow.

“We’re taking the guesswork out of the spa journey, and making the innovative simple: combining hot and cold thermal experiences with manual treatments, aromatherapy and visual therapy to take care of our guests wellness needs. Guests will not only be able to map out their thermal journey, but link it to a treatment and post-treatment nutrition during their visit.

Additionally, the hotel garnered acclaim in 2021 for its La Chambre Verte experience. This collaboration seen us team up with La Rue Verte to transform one of the hotel’s rooms for into an immersive biophilic spa experience for a limited period.
