SMALLER PROJECTS » JMCC, Edinburgh University
The Brief:
JMCC Restaurant wanted to improve their dining space with a lush, natural look inspired by our installation at Edinburgh University’s Nucleus. They requested dense, trailing foliage to drape over their table gantries and troughs. However, the client wanted to avoid a top-heavy appearance and needed a design that worked well with their metal mesh structures.
THE SOLUTION:
Benholm planned and installed artificial trailing foliage to achieve the requested look. The foliage was carefully arranged over the table gantries and troughs, creating a natural flow while maintaining a balanced and cohesive design. The planting was tailored to the restaurant’s unique layout, complementing the area without overwhelming the space.
THE RESULTS:
The JMCC Restaurant’s dining area was transformed with cascading greenery that added depth and interest to the space. The dense but balanced foliage created a welcoming atmosphere for diners while aligning with the restaurant’s brief. The installation achieved the perfect mix of style and practicality.
