THE BRIEF:
Islander UK, a premier online and high street retailer, has been a fashion destination since its establishment in 2010.
Headquartered in Edinburgh, Islander operates thriving stores in Edinburgh and St Andrews, along with a vibrant online presence. Specialising in contemporary Harris Tweed bags, footwear and accessories, the company is renowned for blending modern fashion with traditional craftsmanship.
We were first approached by Islander to create an exterior floral display for their store at Candlemaker Row. They hoped for us to incorporate the colours of their special tartan into a design that would attract people to take pictures and come inside.
THE SOLUTION:
Our initial project for Islander was an intricately designed exterior floral display at their Candlemaker Row location in Edinburgh. Throughout the process, we collaborated closely with Islander, presenting detailed proposals and making precise amendments based on their feedback to ensure the final design reflected their vision and brand identity.
We crafted a stunning installation using twisted vines and branches adorned with ivy foliage and vibrant floral blossoms. This design elegantly wound around the entrance sign, adding a burst of colour to the store’s stony exterior, making it a visually striking feature.
Following the success of the first display, Islander commissioned us to create similar installations at their other locations: Raeburn Place and Marshall Street in Edinburgh, and Market Street in St Andrews. Each display, while unique, maintained a consistent colour scheme featuring the signature blue of Islander’s tartan. This consistency ensured that all displays were instantly recognisable as part of the Islander UK brand.
THE RESULTS:
These displays have been wildly popular, with customers frequently sharing photos of the shop fronts on social media. The eye-catching designs have not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the stores but have also drawn more foot traffic, encouraging people to come inside.
